When Every Doctor Visit Feels Like a Gaslighting Podcast - And You Still Feel Like Sh*T!

We Blame Our Bodies. But What If They’re Not the Problem?

You go to the doctor because you feel off. They run labs, shrug, and tell you everything looks fine. But you don’t feel fine. You're exhausted, Foggy, Achy, Moody, and Labs are always ‘normal’... but are they really?

Are they normal in consideration of a national average based on who knows what? Or are they normal for someone your age, your weight, your blood type and current situation — including meds, eating habits, and more?

Like… are they basing the normalcy of Your labs on you?

Maybe you should ask…

Honestly, it’s time to start asking a lot of the right questions, like - what’s actually going on inside you?

But here's an interesting (or scary depending on how you look at it) conclusion I've come to lately in my research -

What if your symptoms are coming from the very things you wear, wash with, and use every day?

We’re talking about your yoga pants, your house slippers, your toilet paper, dish soap, scented candles, the makeup you use, laundry detergent - even your cookware.

Bioaccumulation Is Real - And It’s Likely Already Happening

We are surrounded by toxins. From the plastic lining of.. anything in a can to actual plastic jugs, to the microplastics in our clothing fibers, forever chemicals in hygiene and cleaning products - these synthetic micro-fibers and chemicals get absorbed, and build up in our bodies over time. And because most of them don’t break down, (without a bolt of lightning) they accumulate - slowly frying your nervous system, overwhelming your liver, and disrupting your hormones.

Some examples:

  • Polyester, nylon, acrylic, and rayon: These are synthetic fabrics, many derived from petroleum or wood pulp treated with toxic solvents like carbon disulfide. Your skin absorbs their residues, especially when you sweat.

  • Fast fashion: High-volume resellers like mall stores, TJ Maxx, Shein, Temu, Ross, or Burlington often sell clothing laced with azo dyes, formaldehyde, and phthalates - all linked to hormone disruption and neurotoxicity - which is why you ALWAYS, wash before you wear!

  • Bleached toilet paper: Leaves behind dioxins, a persistent organic pollutant associated with cancer and endocrine disruption.

  • Teflon or “nonstick” cookware: Contains PFOA/PTFE - part of the “forever chemical” family, which accumulates in organs and is difficult to detox.

  • Ceramic coated cookware: are actually metal with a synthetic silicon-based coating that chips and leaches.

  • Cleaning and beauty products: Often include quats, formaldehyde releasers, synthetic fragrances, and SLS - all of which can irritate skin, damage hormones, and cross the blood-brain barrier.

If you’ve been struggling with:

Chronic fatigue

Brain fog

Fibromyalgia

Skin flare-ups: itchiness, rashes, bumps, red dots and random other "unexplained" weirdness

Hormonal imbalances

Gut issues

Sleep problems

Anxiety or mood swings

...and doctors just mostly scratch their head and send you home frustrated or prescribe you something random they can't actually give you a good reason for taking …you’re not broken. You’re bioaccumulating.

And your body is screaming for relief. That whole list is "symptoms", not root issues - that list is your body trying to communicate with you - it's time to listen and respond.

Where to Start (Without Going Broke)

You don’t have to torch your life and run off into the woods. You can detox your home and body - affordably, step by step.

Start small if you need to. If you can't afford to drop a lump sum swapping out all at once, start swapping products every time you shop:

  • Toilet paper: Bamboo, PFAS-free, unbleached.

  • Toothpaste: Fluoride-free, SLS-free, like BOKA, which also contains nano-hydroxyapatite to support enamel.

  • Gum: If you are a gum-chewer, chew gum that is plastic, petro and tox chemical free like Nathan & Sons Remineralizing Gum!

  • Water: I get mine from Whole Foods - alkaline, fluoride-free, and PFAS-free. You can bring your own glass jugs or invest in a filter at home.

  • Cookware: Ditch the Teflon. Switch to 100% ceramic (like Xtrema) or cast iron. Click here to save 20% on your first order @ Xtrema! I have the wok, the tea kettle and a baking pan! LOVE them so much! I thought I'd start there and slowly get the whole set, but honestly... I cook and bake almost everything in the wok - including the dutch-oven bread.

  • Clothing: Buy less, choose better. Opt for cotton, linen, and wool.

  • Makeup and skincare: Start purchasing from the “Clean” lists under "Ingredient Preferences" at Ulta and Sephora, or explore brands like Ilia, RMS, or Beautycounter.

  • Cleaning products: Use vinegar, castile soap, or clean, organic, or vegan concentrates with full ingredient transparency.

Even one swap per paycheck can transform your home over time.

⚠️ What to Avoid + What to Look For

🧼 Cleaning Products – Avoid: Fragrance, parfum, SLS, SLES, quats, ammonium compounds, 2-butoxyethanol, formaldehyde, methylisothiazolinone, benzalkonium chloride, bleach, sodium hypochlorite, triclosan, triclocarban, phthalates, NPEs, petroleum distillates, MEA, DEA, TEA, phenol, optical brighteners, artificial dyes, isothiazolinones.

→ Look for: EWG-verified, biodegradable, fragrance-free, plant-based, low/no VOCs.

🧵 Fabrics – Avoid: Polyester, acrylic, nylon, rayon (viscose), acetate, triacetate, spandex/elastane, PVC/PU-coated fabrics, poly-blends, performance synthetics.

→ Stick with: Organic cotton, linen, hemp, wool, untreated silk, Tencel (mechanically processed only).

💊 Supplements – Avoid: Magnesium stearate, stearic acid, titanium dioxide, FD&C dyes, artificial sweeteners (aspartame, sucralose, saccharin), maltodextrin, hydrogenated oils, carrageenan, PEGs, propylene glycol, talc, shellac, silicon dioxide, non-organic cellulose.

→ Look for: Additive-free, food-based, third-party tested, glass packaging, vegan capsules, no synthetic binders or colors.

🍽️ Food – Avoid: High fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, synthetic dyes (Red 40, Yellow 5, Blue 1), MSG, disodium inosinate, TBHQ, BHT, BHA, propylene glycol, potassium bromate, carrageenan, canola/seed oils (unless organic), enriched/bleached flour, glyphosate (in non-organic grains), vague “natural flavors.”

→ Look for: USDA Organic, Glyphosate Residue Free, Non-GMO Project Verified, preservative-free, cold-pressed oils, real ingredients, locally grown when possible.

Final Word

You’re not meant to feel awful all the time.

Your body is intelligent — and if it’s inflamed, exhausted, or overwhelmed, it’s probably responding perfectly… to a toxic world.

But you can choose different.

One swap at a time.

One breath of clean air at a time.

One loving, informed decision at a time.

Because the truth is:

You don’t need a new diagnosis. You need less poison - and more power.
