"Set in their ways!?"

Are We All Set in Our Ways?

"Set in their ways." It's a phrase that lingers, often whispered with a sense of resignation, as if being set in your ways is the end of the road for personal growth. But is it true? Are we all, to some degree, set in our ways?

Sure, we like to think of ourselves as adaptable and fluid—just like Bruce Lee’s iconic advice to “be like water.” On paper, it sounds effortless and freeing. But when I really thought about it, I started to notice how much of our day-to-day life is anchored in routine.

We all have preferences and habits that give structure to our lives:

  • The way we like our coffee.

  • That morning routine we swear by.

  • The hand we write with.

  • Breaking to win in pool (you know who you are).

These routines and habits are comfortable, predictable, and safe. They’re part of what makes us human. But then I started asking myself: How much are these ingrained patterns holding me back from evolving, learning, and growing into my fullest potential?

Unlearning to Evolve

Think about it: The longer we live, the more we collect habits, beliefs, and patterns that we hardly notice anymore. But many of these things aren’t serving us—they’re just familiar. And here’s the kicker: much of personal growth isn’t about learning something new. It’s about unlearning what’s been holding us back.

I’ve spent over 20 years studying energy, the universe, and the art of manifesting. I’ve learned about grounding, meditating, creating healthier habits, connecting with my higher self, and stepping out of my comfort zone. But it wasn’t an easy process. Why? Because I had so much to unlearn.

The younger generation, by contrast, seems to grasp these concepts so quickly. They’re growing up with these ideas already in the air, and they don’t have to undo decades of ingrained patterns. They just learn and flow. Meanwhile, many of us are stuck untangling years—sometimes decades—of beliefs, habits, and perspectives that no longer serve us.

What If It Could Be Easier?

This realization shifted everything for me. What if letting go of what no longer serves us—our limiting beliefs, old patterns, and emotional baggage—could be faster, easier, and more intentional? What if we didn’t have to struggle so hard to unlearn?

A couple of years ago, I was in a car accident that obliterated my life on so many levels. The details of that journey are too long to share here, but at the height of my anxiety—when it felt like my life was floating out into space—the thing that brought me back to Earth was the Emotion Code.

Through Emotion Code sessions, I was able to gently release so many things that had been holding my confidence hostage: anxiety, health issues, depression, PTSD, and so much more. These sessions created space for clarity, freedom, and alignment. It was like hitting a “reset” button for my energy, giving me the freedom to move forward without being weighed down by my overactive imagination and emotional baggage.

Ready to Set Yourself Free?

Healing myself made me realize that I can help others. If this resonates with you, consider this your sign. It’s time to let go of what no longer serves you and open yourself to a life of fluidity, growth, and transformation.
